Mason Salvation Force

Spring 2024

Role: Programmer

MSF is a Contra inspired arcade game designed around George Mason University. On a team of 20+ students, I held a developer role. I was tasked with programming the some of the enemies, all the bosses, and bug fixing along with playing a minor design role for some aspects of the game. I programmed the patrolling and shooting behavior used by half the enemies and design and programmed the exploding cart enemy. I programmed the boss attacks and behavior based on our teams' design document, though I would have liked to have polished some of the attacks more if given more time. Lastly, I implemented all SFX and music into the game and fixed the majority of the bugs.


MSF consists of three exciting levels filled with enemies and boss fights. This game can be played with up to four players.

Tempus The Archmage

Spring 2023

Role: Producer, Programmer, Designer, SFX

Tempus The Archmage is the first full project I completed and my first real game. On a team of 5, I wore many hats in the development of this project. This game a 2D Platformer where you play as Tempus, a wizard on a quest to gain new spells. You begin with zero spells, but unlock new ones through defeating the level boss. Pressing TAB will cycle through the spells and almost every spell interacts with environmental objects in some way with the exception of the wind spell that grants a double jump.

In my roles I set up deadlines for my team, designed the game concept as well as the in game abilities, programmed the game in its entirety, and created all SFX.

Fishing and Skill Upgrades Mechanics

Fall 2023

Role: Programmer

​This is a project that was abandoned, but had a few completed game mechanics that were worth showing off. Though this version of the projected was abandoned, it is being reimagined as Keeping It Reel, which you can find under CURRENT PROJECTS.

​

The player can cast, which will initiate a time based skill check. The performance of this skill check will determine the chances of fishing up different kinds of fish. These fish reward skill points to the player that can be used to upgrade your abilities in the skill tree menu. These skill upgrades were functional in game, but the section of the game where they were used is not featured in this video as it is incomplete as a whole.

Weathered

Spring 2024

Role: QA Tester / Bug Fixing

Weathered is a project I joined halfway through development. Me and one other individual were brought onto this team to ease the work load of original developers. This is a horror mystery puzzle game where you progress through a haunted mansion.

I was tasked with QA testing many different parts of the game and fixing any issues that I found while testing. Along with that, the team also gave me a list of already known issues for me to work which involved giving an overhaul to their camera system.
